Mayville hadn't done well against Racine Lutheran recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Cardinals came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 2-0. The Cardinals were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Crusaders, so the Cardinals were just returning the favor.

Despite the defeat, Racine Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sophia Schatzman had six digs and two aces.

Mayville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Racine Lutheran, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
