Basketball Recap: Sarah Pettey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Warren over Monroe Central

Warren was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monroe Central Seminoles.

Warren lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sarah Pettey, who posted seven points along with seven boards and six steals. Those six steals gave her a new career-high. Mackenzie James-McGuire was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Warren now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Monroe Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-8.

Warren has already played their next game, a 42-37 defeat against Alexander on the 8th. As for Monroe Central, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ridgewood at 1:00 p.m. on February 15th.
