Softball Recap: Twin Falls' Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Twin Falls won the last time they faced Mountain Home and things went their way on Monday too. The Bruins blew past the Tigers 16-4. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Molly Hodge and Bri Holcomb were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Hodge tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Holcomb tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, Hodge posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. At the plate, Hodge scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Holcomb scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Hodge has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

In other batting news, Kaitlyn Hudson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylin Iverson, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-5.

Twin Falls lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Home didn't launched any home runs.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Twin Falls, bringing their record up to 8-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain Home, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Twin Falls beat Mountain Home by a score of 10-2 later that day.
