The Carrboro Jaguars on the road again on Wednesday and play against the J.F. Webb Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Carrboro pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Durham School of the Arts.

Despite the loss, Carrboro had strong showings from Bakari Watkins, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds, and Jadon Pendergraft-El, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pendergraft-El has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sam Kanjorski, who scored four points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Meanwhile, J.F. Webb's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 58-47 to Vance County.

Despite their defeat, J.F. Webb saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jaydan Hester, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that Hester pulled down eight or more rebounds. Jabari Hunter was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two blocks.

Even though they lost, J.F. Webb smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vance County only pulled down 13 offensive rebounds.

Carrboro now has a losing record at 6-7. As for J.F. Webb, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-10.

Carrboro came up short against J.F. Webb when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 63-51. Can Carrboro avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
