Football Game Preview: Menlo-Atherton Bears vs. Wilcox Chargers + How To Watch

The Menlo-Atherton Bears will square off against the Wilcox Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Menlo-Atherton nor Wilcox posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Menlo-Atherton is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Los Gatos on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Bears took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 56-13. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Although Menlo-Atherton took the loss, they still got scores from Zachary Sokol and Kyle Gabriel. Milo Lazare also deserves some recognition as he passed for his first passing touchdown of the season.

Meanwhile, Wilcox got themselves on the board against Menlo School on Friday, but Menlo School never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knights, sneaking past 2-0. The two-point effort marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The victory made it two in a row for Wilcox and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 17 points in those games. As for Menlo-Atherton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
