Baseball Recap: Bourne Takes a Loss

If Bourne was riding high fresh off their 10-1 takedown of Wareham last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Canalmen fell just short of the Monomoy Sharks by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Canalmen have suffered against the Sharks since June 18, 2021.

Bourne saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Polczwartek, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Bourne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Monomoy, they now have a winning record of 1-0-1.

Bourne and Monomoy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Canalmen will square off against rival Fairhaven at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Monomoy is set to face off against their familiar foe Cape Cod RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
