Softball Recap: Bald Eagle Area Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Bald Eagle Area extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping them up to 12-4. They never let the Bishop McCort Crushers get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly four runs.

The result came thanks to Harlee Witherite's shutout, as she gave up just three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Maelee Yoder was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

As for Bishop McCort, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. The game marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Bishop McCort's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Zeglin, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Bald Eagle Area will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Crushers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
