Clyde's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Western Reserve Roughriders 8-7. The Fliers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Colt Flores and Drake Yohe did most of the damage at the plate: Flores went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run, while Yohe got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave Flores a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Deacon Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Clyde's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Western Reserve, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Clyde will head out to challenge Columbian at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Western Reserve, they will venture away from home to square off against South Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
