Preview: Odyssey Charter School Titans vs. Master's Academy Patriots
Odyssey Charter School has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Master's Academy Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Odyssey Charter School will be strutting in after a win while Master's Academy will be coming in after a loss.
Last Thursday, Odyssey Charter School didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Melbourne Central Catholic, but they still walked away with a 36-31 win.
Odyssey Charter School's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jamale Long, who scored 12 points along with three steals, and Jevenson Antoine, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and four blocks. Antoine has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ephram Welsh, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Master's Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their fourth straight loss. Their rough 62-40 defeat to Merritt Island Christian might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Master's Academy in their matchups with Merritt Island Christian: they've now lost six in a row.
Odyssey Charter School pushed their record up to 5-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Master's Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything went Odyssey Charter School's way against Master's Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as Odyssey Charter School made off with a 56-31 victory. With Odyssey Charter School ahead 35-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
