Basketball Recap: Gilroy Takes a Loss

Gilroy lost against Leland back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gilroy Mustangs took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leland Chargers. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mattia Nucci went supernova for Leland, going 7 of 16 on his way to 22 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gurkaran Khehra, who posted eight points.

Gilroy's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Leland, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Gilroy will take on Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th. As for Leland, they will challenge Evergreen Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Leland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.
