Football Preview: Myers Park Mustangs vs. Richmond Raiders        
        
		
             The Myers Park Mustangs will venture away from home to  challenge the Richmond Raiders  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Richmond took a loss in their last  contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Myers Park, who comes in off a win.
 Myers Park took a loss when they played away from home  last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Friday. They put the hurt on Sun Valley with a sharp  37-14 victory.
 Myers Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Jared Lockhart led the charge by throwing for 330 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.2 yards per attempt.  RJ Alexander helped  Lockhart out on the ground, rushing for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
 Myers Park's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB  five times. The heavy lifting was done by  Rodney Dunham and  Brennan Meccarielli who racked up  four sacks between them.
 Meanwhile, Richmond ended up a good deal behind Cardinal Gibbons on Friday and lost  31-13. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
 Myers Park's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Richmond, they now also have a losing record at 1-2.
 Everything came up roses for Myers Park against Richmond in their previous matchup  back in September of 2023 as the  squad secured  a  47-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Myers Park since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
