Basketball Recap: Loveland Classical Extends Winning Streak to Eight

A well-balanced attack led Loveland Classical over Nederland in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Loveland Classical Lions blew the Nederland Panthers out of the water with a 64-19 final score. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Loveland Classical's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Graham McNair led the charge by going 8 for 14 en route to 16 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave McNair a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Kole Doan, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Loveland Classical smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nederland only pulled down four offensive boards.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Ivey, who had six points. Indio Koonz was another key player, putting up five points and five rebounds.

The victory (which was Loveland Classical's eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Nederland, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-13.
