Recap: Hobbton Wildcats vs. Midway Raiders
The Hobbton Wildcats lost against the Midway Raiders back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Hobbton suffered a tough 64-41 defeat at the hands of Midway. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hobbton in their matchups with Midway: they've now lost nine in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Hobbton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dai'vian Murrell. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with three steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Alex Devone , who scored six points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Midway to victory, but perhaps none more so than Travis Gist, who scored 13 points. Tripp Westbrook was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Hobbton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Midway, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Hobbton will head out on the road to face off against Midway at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Midway is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.1 points per game. They will be home for the holidays to greet Hobbton at 7:30 p.m. Hobbton is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
