Recap: York Prep Patriots vs. Central Eagles
The York Prep Patriots scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 61-34 win over Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win York Prep has posted against Central since January 15, 2021.
York Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gracie Robinson out in front who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season. Payton Munsey was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds and seven blocks.
Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Kabreyia Covington, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Griffin, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Even though they lost, Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The win was the third in a row for York Prep, bringing their record for this year to 7-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Central, their defeat was their 13th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-13.
York Prep will head out on the road to challenge Andrew Jackson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Andrew Jackson is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games. As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Central at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. North Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
