Recap: Ninilchik Wolverines vs. Kalskag Grizzly Bears

In what's become a running theme this season, the Ninilchik Wolverines gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They put the hurt on Kalskag with a sharp 55-33 win. Winning may never get old, but Ninilchik sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Riley Tucker was her usual excellent self, scoring 31 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Ninilchik's points.

Several Grizzly Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Iris Evan, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Emily Evan, who scored seven points.

Ninilchik's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Kalskag, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

The two teams will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alaska (Kalskag is ranked 48th, while Ninilchik is ranked 57th). Kalskag will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Ninilchik at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th.
