Basketball Recap: Kings Takes a Loss

Kings lost against Milford back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Kings Knights were beaten by the Milford Eagles 65-38. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Eagles are ranked 40th).

Leading Milford to victory were Violet Shuluga and Gabby Chadwell. Shuluga almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine boards, while Chadwell went 6 for 9 on her way to 17 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Shuluga a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Maddie Rockey, who posted eight points.

Kings has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Milford, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Kings will venture away from home to challenge Ursuline Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Milford, they will welcome Archbishop McNicholas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
