Volleyball Recap: Lakeside Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lakeside entered their tilt with Grovetown on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 2-0. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

While Lakeside won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-17.

Carson Movius paced Lakeside's offense, picking up eight kills. Movius got some help from Dayea Matocha and her 16 assists. Shelby Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the defeat, Grovetown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Adelena Marquez had 13 digs and two aces.

Lakeside's win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Lakeside and Grovetown will both be playing Davidson Fine Arts the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
