Basketball Game Preview: Weskan Coyotes vs. Syracuse Bulldogs

The Weskan Coyotes and the Syracuse Bulldogs will meet in a canine-themed contest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Weskan will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

If Weskan beats Syracuse with 80 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Weskan took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 80-25 victory over Triplains/Brewster. The Coyotes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 28 points or more this season.

Trey Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 29 points along with eight boards and three steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Weskan's points. Judah Crow was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Weskan was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Syracuse faced Lakin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Syracuse had to suffer through a 71-44 loss at the hands of Lakin. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Weskan pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.2 points. As for Syracuse, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2.
