The Le Roy Oatkan Knights will face off against the Attica Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Le Roy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Le Roy needed a bit of extra time to put away Livonia. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 14-13. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Oatkan Knights, who until this match were averaging 3.44 runs allowed.
Jake Higgins was excellent, going 2-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady McClurg, who went 2-for-5 with two runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Le Roy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted in their last nine contests.
Meanwhile, Attica scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Byron-Bergen by a score of 8-7.
Jakk Chaplin was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Le Roy pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Attica, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
Attica's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Le Roy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. It's a different story for Attica, though, as they've only averaged .223. Will they be able to contain Le Roy's hitters?
Everything went Le Roy's way against Attica in their previous matchup back in May of 2022, as Le Roy made off with a 12-2 win. Do the Oatkan Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
