Baseball Recap: Sunshine State Elite Academy Takes a Loss

Sunshine State Elite Academy had lost seven straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-10 to make it eight. They came up short against the IMG Academy Ascenders, falling 7-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which Sunshine State Elite Academy was not able to get on the board.

As for IMG Academy, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-1. The result was nothing new for the Ascenders, who have now won 11 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For IMG Academy's part, they got a great performance from Parker Jennings as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Jennings has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, IMG Academy let Dean Moss and Sean Gamble run wild. Moss went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Gamble went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Moss has posted since back in February. Max Hemenway was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Sunshine State Elite Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for IMG Academy, they will take on Central Pointe Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
