Baseball Recap: Goodland Comes Up Short

Goodland lost against Garden City back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cowboys fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 7-6.

Kacen Sederstrom was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Zach Thorson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jared Quain, who scored a run and stole a base.

Goodland suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 2-5. As for Garden City, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-6 record.

While Goodland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
