Greencastle posted their closest win since May 10, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers 3-1. The Tiger Cubs haven't had any issues with the Chargin' Chargers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Ali Hassler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Katie Detro, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

The win got Greencastle back to even at 5-5. As for North Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greencastle will challenge Lebanon at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Montgomery, they will square off against Eminence at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
