Softball Recap: Nogales Takes a Loss

If Nogales was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Baldwin Park on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Nobles took a 17-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Azusa Aztecs on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (13), the Nobles still had to take the loss.

Dezzy Torres made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Elisabeth Jimenez-Carrillo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Nogales' loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Azusa, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

Coincidentally, Nogales and Azusa will both be playing Duarte the next time they take the field. The Nobles will host the Falcons at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Aztecs will host them at 3:30 p.m. on the 29th.
