Softball Recap: Urbana Hawks vs. Damascus Hornets

It was a good run, but Urbana unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 8-2 to the Damascus Hornets. Urbana was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Damascus apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2017.

For Damascus' part, Alyssa Clark made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Clark has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Clark was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with a home run, five RBI, and a stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Falyn Quick, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Josie Hoffacker, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
