Softball Recap: Bay City Comes Up Short

Bay City lost against Needville back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blackcats came up short against the Bluejays, falling 13-1.

Bay City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miley Salazar, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Bay City's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Needville, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 18-4.

Looking ahead, Bay City will square off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Roughnecks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Blackcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Needville, they will challenge Wharton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Bluejays' favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home while the Tigers have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
