Recap: Christian Learning Center Mustangs vs. Plaza Heights Christian Academy
The Christian Learning Center Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 79-49 loss at the hands of Plaza Heights Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Christian Learning Center can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 347th in Kansas, while Plaza Heights Christian Academy is ranked 137th in Missouri).
Despite the loss, Christian Learning Center still got an impressive performance from Ryan Koch, who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hill, who scored ten points.
Plaza Heights Christian Academy was led to victory by Remi Schieber and Luke Jones. Schieber scored 21 points along with three steals, while Jones dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Jones' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Austin Blum was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Christian Learning Center has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christian Learning Center will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Plaza Heights Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Clinton Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
