Recap: Rapides Mustangs vs. Alexandria Country Day Tigers
The Rapides Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by Alexandria Country Day at home to the tune of 92-17. Rapides has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Rapides' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sheldrick Vall led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayveian Johnson, who scored 23 points along with three steals.
The victory was the third in a row for Rapides, bringing their record for this year to 20-11. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 56.7 points. As for Alexandria Country Day, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-21.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rapides will take on Grace Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rapides knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Grace Christian likes a good challenge. Alexandria Country Day is coming into the game with 11 straight defeats at home, meaning Avoyelles Charter will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
