Basketball Recap: Bowie Takes a Loss

Bowie pushed their score to 52 the last time they played Pewitt, but on Tuesday they couldn't quite do it again. The Bowie Pirates fell just short of the Pewitt Brahmas by a score of 31-28. The Pirates have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Leading Pewitt to victory were Wooda Betts and Wesley Smith. Betts went 6 for 8 on his way to 15 points and three steals, while Smith almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Betts has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times he's played.

Bowie's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Pewitt, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season.

Bowie has already played their next contest, a 32-22 defeat against Harts Bluff on the 17th. As for Pewitt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-54 loss against Rivercrest on the 17th.
