First Baptist Christian had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Horizon Science Academy Dragons. That's more bragging rights for the Sabres, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: First Baptist Christian took every set by at least 22 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-2, 25-2, 25-3.

First Baptist Christian can attribute much of their success to Joanna Wacker, who had 11 assists and four aces.

Wacker wasn't the only good server: First Baptist Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 38 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in six consecutive matchups.

First Baptist Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Horizon Science Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, First Baptist Christian will face off against Heritage Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Horizon Science Academy, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Andrews Osborne Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
