Basketball Game Preview: Frederica Academy vs. Pinewood Christian Patriots

Frederica Academy and Pinewood Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2022, but not for long. Frederica Academy just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Pinewood Christian Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Frederica Academy's defense has only allowed 27.7 points per game this season, so Pinewood Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Frederica Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Westminster Schools of Augusta just ended the team's 17-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 53-50. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Frederica Academy came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Westminster Schools of Augusta is ranked 234th).

Meanwhile, Pinewood Christian came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They pulled ahead with a 39-38 photo finish over the War Eagles.

Pinewood Christian's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Frederica Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 17-1.

Frederica Academy won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup two weeks ago, slipping by Pinewood Christian 36-35. Will Frederica Academy repeat their success, or does Pinewood Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
