Baseball Recap: Williams Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Williams put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Eastern Guilford Wildcats 14-3. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Mason Fleenor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Liam KerrFinger was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Vince Coker was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Williams always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Williams' victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Eastern Guilford, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Williams will take on Vance Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eastern Guilford, they will face off against Northeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
