Basketball Recap: Schuyler Takes a Loss

Schuyler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Standing Bear Grizzlies and fell 53-16.

Standing Bear's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braylee Vasa, who went 7-for-10 en route to 15 points. The dominant performance also gave Vasa a new career-high in field goal percentage (70%). Another player making a difference was Lily Hansmeier, who posted ten points and five steals.

Schuyler's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Standing Bear, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.

Coming up, Schuyler will challenge Ralston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Schuyler is facing Ralston at the right time seeing as Ralston is stuck on a 19-game losing streak. As for Standing Bear, they will head out to square off against Gretna at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
