Baseball Recap: New Richmond's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

New Richmond can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They never let the Wilmington Hurricane get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ethan Taggart made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Taggart was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hunter Ashley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

New Richmond always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
