Baseball Recap: O'connor Has No Trouble Against Antonian Prep

On Saturday, the O'Connor Panthers got the win against the Antonian Prep Apaches by a conclusive 8-2. Considering the Panthers have won three games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Ryan Mason was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). James O'Connor was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

O'Connor has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. Antonian Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. O'Connor will square off against Harlan at 1:45 p.m. on Monday. O'Connor's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Harlan's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Antonian Prep, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Brennan at 12:00 p.m.
