Basketball Game Preview: Deckerville Eagles vs. Peck Pirates

Deckerville is 2-8 against Peck since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Pirates at 7:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Deckerville came up short against Kingston and fell 54-42.

Meanwhile, Peck won against North Huron on Friday with 67 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. The Pirates breezed past Carsonville-Port Sanilac to the tune of 67-38. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.

Peck had a senior duo take command as Lucus Trombley posted 18 points and Thomas West earned 18 points. West's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Cody Cairo, who put up nine points.

The win (which was Peck's third in a row) raised their record to 7-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points over those games. As for Deckerville, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Deckerville might still be hurting after the 46-24 loss they got from Peck when the teams last played back in December of 2025. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of West, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. Now that the Eagles know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
