Softball Game Preview: Carrollton Warriors vs. Tuscarawas Valley Trojans

The Carrollton Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carrollton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Carrollton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against West Branch, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Carrollton fell just short of West Branch by a score of 10-8 on Friday. Carrollton hasn't had much luck with West Branch recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Jordan Pittman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Juliaunna Miller was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuscarawas Valley fell victim to Sandy Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The game marked the first time this year in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.

Tuscarawas Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyra Garbrandt, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Carrollton's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Tuscarawas Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 18-1.

Carrollton couldn't quite get it done against Tuscarawas Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 16-11. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
