Basketball Game Preview: Southport Cardinals vs. Franklin Central Flashes

Southport is 2-8 against Franklin Central since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Southport Cardinals will square off against the Franklin Central Flashes at 6:00 p.m.

Southport is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since December 10, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 65-43 to Greenfield-Central. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Franklin Central walked away with it. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 54-47 on Tuesday.

Southport's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Franklin Central, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.

Southport lost to Franklin Central on the road by a decisive 66-50 margin in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can Southport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
