Basketball Recap: Victoria Soto Takes a Loss

Victoria Soto has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 29.05 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They had to suffer through an 80-13 loss at the hands of the Timothy Christian Trojans. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-13.

Timothy Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Annika Lemkuil, who posted six points and eight steals. Lemkuil has become a key player for Timothy Christian: the team is undefeated when she posts at least three steals, but 10-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Maria Pozol-Neigo, who earned nine points and five assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Victoria Soto and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Timothy Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-12.

As of now, neither Victoria Soto nor Timothy Christian have any future games scheduled.
