DCIAA - Stars recap September 4, 2013

Ballou was the team made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in DCIAA - Stars. Earlier in the week, the Knights defeated Roosevelt 40-0.

Coolidge lost to Yorktown 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Delonte Matthews was the best wideout in the league this week as Dunbar topped McKinley Tech. Matthews tallied 6 receptions for 102 yards. James Duff helped Dunbar's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 56 yards.

Rashad Shackleford put up the best numbers through the air as Anacostia defeated Chavez. He finished with 19 completions for 325 yards and 5 touchdowns. Shackleford's favorite target this week was Torres Bell, who caught 3 passes for 72 yards.

He was 19-31 with 1 interceptions.

Malonta Patterson was the best running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 178 yards as the Crimson Tide bested the Trainers. Teammate Chrisdeion Alston added to the ground attack by rushing for 43 yards.

6-foot-1 quarterback Shackleford of the Indians is the league leader in passing yards this season with 325. He has also thrown 5 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Matthews. The Dunbar star has 6 catches for 102 yards.

Wilson led DCIAA - Stars in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on Perry Street Prep.
