Brentwood School and Viewpoint are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
If Brentwood School beats Viewpoint with five runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Campbell Hall 5-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Sam Russakoff looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Brentwood School: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Jack Kaplan and Hudson Chase did most of the damage at the plate: Kaplan went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Chase got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Brentwood School is 4-1 when Chase posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Beckett Hoffman was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Viewpoint came tearing into Thursday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Wildcats.
Viewpoint pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Brentwood School, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Brentwood School came out on top in a nail-biter against Viewpoint in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
