Soccer Game Preview: Hammond Central vs. Westville

The Hammond Central Wolves will challenge the Westville Blackhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hammond Central's offense. They came up short against Highland on Tuesday, falling 9-0.

Meanwhile, Westville also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 5-0 to Morgan Township on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that Westville have lost by exactly five goals.

Hammond Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Westville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Everything went Hammond Central's way against Westville in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, as Hammond Central made off with a 4-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wolves since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
