Basketball Recap: Blackstone Valley Prep PRIDE vs. Mt. Hope Huskies

Blackstone Valley Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Hope Huskies. If the PRIDE were looking for revenge after losing 62-53 to them when the teams met back in January of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mt. Hope was led to victory by Matthew Macdougall and Lucas Andreozzi. Macdougall went 7-for-14 to rack up 15 points and four steals, while Andreozzi went 5-for-10 en route to 14 points and six assists. Macdougall is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maleaq Roderick, who posted five points.

Blackstone Valley Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Mt. Hope, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
