Carey had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They managed a 43-39 victory over the Mackay Miners on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Carey's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Mackay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-10.
