Basketball Recap: Fenwick Comes Up Short

Fenwick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mother McAuley Mighty Macs. While losing is never fun, the Friars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Mighty Macs are ranked 71st).

Fenwick's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Mother McAuley, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Fenwick and Marian Catholic will compete for holiday cheer at 10:00 a.m. on the 20th. As for Mother McAuley, they will take on Whitney Young at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
