Mesilla Valley Christian School extended their winning streak to five on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 8-3 in the process. Everything went their way against the Mescalero Apache Chiefs as they made off with a 15-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the SonBlazers, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Jude Herrera and Kobe Redfearn did most of the damage at the plate: Herrera went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple, while Redfearn went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four RBI gave Herrera a new career-high. Matt Borde was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Mesilla Valley Christian School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

As for Mescalero Apache, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

On Mescalero Apache's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Damon, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another was Anthony Yuzos, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Looking ahead, Mesilla Valley Christian School will welcome Lordsburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The SonBlazers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mavericks have averaged an impressive 13.9 runs per game this season. As for Mescalero Apache, they will venture away from home to challenge Capitan at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chiefs are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
