Baseball Recap: Pendleton County Comes Up Short

Pendleton County lost against Elkins back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcat fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 9-7. The Wildcat have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pendleton County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Owens, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Tucker Smith also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Pendleton County now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Elkins, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 2-7 record.

Coming up, Pendleton County will face off against East Hardy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Elkins, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-2 defeat against Lincoln on the 5th.
