Softball Recap: Franklin-Simpson Find Success

After only one run in their last game, Franklin-Simpson made sure to put some runs up on the board against Glasgow on Tuesday. The Franklin-Simpson Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the Glasgow Scotties an 11-0 shutout. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Franklin-Simpson let Allie Utley and Jasmine Grover run wild. Utley scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Grover scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Utley has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Holland, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Franklin-Simpson now has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Glasgow, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin-Simpson will square off against Bowling Green at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin-Simpson's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Bowling Green's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Glasgow, they will face off against Metcalfe County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
