The Dos Palos Broncos will venture away from home to  take on the Mendota Aztecs  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  point totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with three  losses in a row, Dos Palos  turned things around against Avenal  on Friday. They claimed a resounding  56-0 win over the Buccaneers. The  game marked the Broncos' most dominant  victory of the  season.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Mendota). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Tranquillity 63-0. The Aztecs pushed the score to  56-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers had  no chance of recovering from.
Mendota's win came from a few key players Dos Palos will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was  Ethan Lugo, who threw for 80 yards and two  touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punched in one  TD on the ground.  Julian Silva was in the mix  too, providing Mendota with three scores.
 Mendota was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 206  rushing yards. They are  a perfect 3-0 when  they've run for more than 200 yards.
 One reason for the win was Mendota's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks.  Santiago Trejo was especially locked on to Tranquillity's QB and sacked him three times.
 Mendota's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Dos Palos,  the  victory  got them back to even at 3-3.
 Everything came up roses for Dos Palos against Mendota in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024, as the  team secured  a  37-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
