Softball Game Preview: Sandia Matadors vs. Cibola Cougars

The Sandia Matadors will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Cibola Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Sandia came up short against Las Cruces on Saturday, falling 16-1.

Sandia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liliana Villanueva, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Cibola hadn't beaten La Cueva on the road since May 1, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Saturday. Cibola sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over La Cueva. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Cibola's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Sandia, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
