Softball Recap: Battery Creek Victorious

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Battery Creek had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Swansea Tigers 7-6. This was payback for the Dolphins, who suffered a 10-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Stella Schubert made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off 12 hits. Schubert was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on AaLiyah ELMORE, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Mia Isreal, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Battery Creek's record is now 9-11. As for Swansea, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Battery Creek didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-0 defeat against Aynor on the 9th. As for Swansea, they have also already played their next game, a 12-0 loss against Marlboro County on the 9th.
